Textile goods stranded

Tirupur: Suspension of lorry services as part of the nation-wide indefinite stir by truckers has started affecting the movement of textile goods from Tirupur to ports. Sources told The Hindu that garments worth about Rs. 40 crore meant for exports got piled up in the city. A. Sakthivel, president, Tirupur Exporters Association, said that the government should intervene to resolve the strike amicably at the earliest, as any delay in the shipment of goods to foreign buyers would cripple the industry.
