Ganja plants destroyed

CHENNAI: Officials of the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau CID destroyed 2,500 fully grown ganja plants in Pazichakeni, Sappukaltheriparai and Koolaparai areas in the Panjamthangi Hills of the Kotamalai Reserve Forest in Virudhunagar district on Sunday. According to an official release, the plants were cultivated by persons who created an irrigation network using tubes and drew water from the Yanaigajam falls. Efforts were on to identify them. The value of the plants destroyed was estimated at Rs.1.25 crore.
