HYDERABAD: Leaders of Telugu Desam, TRS and the Left called on President Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Nilayam here on Monday evening and urged her to ensure the removal of six Ministers from the State Cabinet for their alleged involvement in the scam relating to the Fisheries Department.
TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, CPI(M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu and CPI leader K. Narayana, submitted a memorandum to the President to this effect. They also requested the President to constitute a Special Court exclusively on the issue for speedy trial and to punish the guilty. The memorandum also sought the removal of Chief Secretary to the government and principal secretaries and other senior officers involved in the case.
The leaders urged her to prevent tampering of files.
Stating that a mega scam had taken place a few weeks before her arrival, they said “in this shady episode, a few hundred crores of rupees were amassed” by one V. Suryanaryana, Executive Engineer of AP Fisheries Development Corporation.
