KOZHIKODE: The Kerala Blood Transfusion Council (KBTC) is in the process of conducting a survey of those with thalassemia and hemophilia in the State. The survey is reportedly the follow up of a memorandum submitted to the State government by the Blood Patients’ Protection Council, highlighting the fact that a fee was being charged on the blood provided to thalassemia and hemophilia patients. As many as 200 persons with hemophilia and more than 100 with thalassemia are registered with the council, according to a list submitted by it to the KBTC. Those with blood disorders may contact the General Convener, BPPC, ‘Phoenix Sailam,’ Karassery P.O., Kozhikode. Phone: 9447 019182.
