It’s Punjab vs. Mumbai

VISAKHAPATNAM: Last year’s runner-up Punjab will take on Mumbai in Cooch-Behar Trophy under-19 final. Mumbai defeated Haryana by an innings and 129 runs while Punjab moved up by virtue of its 55-run first innings lead over Uttar Pradesh, in the semifinals that concluded here on Monday.

U.P. restricted Punjab to 225 in its second innings at the Ukku stadium. The later resumed at 104 for three but lost three wickets for 33 runs before the match came to an end, while chasing a target of 280. Jaskaran Singh claimed two wickets.

Earlier, Gagandeep Singh and Md. Khalid Ahmed picked up three wickets each and I. Azeem two to restrict Punjab. Kunwar Ryna hit a half-century (54, 8x4) and Gurinder Singh made 46 (7x4) while Lakshay Seth scored 22 to push the Punjab total past 200.

Haryana’s hopes of forcing a draw vanished as it was all out for 205 in its second knock
