PCC chief to meet former CLP leaders

Special Correspondentt

HYDERABAD : AP Congress Committee president D. Srinivas has convened a meeting of former presidents of Pradesh Congress Committee and former leaders of Congress Legislature Party on Monday morning in the backdrop of the outcome of the by-elections to Zilla and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies.

Sources said the meeting coincided with the PCC chief’s hosting breakfast for AICC observer P.J. Kurien. However, Mr. Srinivas has also invited the ex-PCC and CLP leaders for the meeting. Apart from the party’s debacle in Denduluru and Aloor ZPTC elections which precipitated the resignation of two Ministers, the proposed alliance of TDP, Left and the TRS is a topic likely to come up for discussion.

Unofficial tie-up

The defeat of Congress candidates in Makloor ZPTC following unofficial tie-up between the TDP and TRS is likely to be raised by the senior leaders from Telangana. The meeting will also review the latest political situation in the State.
