Students render ‘Mangala Isai’

Marks start of Vaikunda Ekadasi festival

Artistic treat: A dance troupe performing on the first of the cultural festival at Srirangam on Sunday.

TIRUCHI: The three-day Vaikunda Ekadasi cultural festival got off to a start at Srirangam on Sunday with the rendering of ‘Mangala Isai’ by students of the Government Music School, Tiruchi. It was followed by veena recital by Sreenidhi of Karur, Bharathanatyam performance by Saratha Ilangovan of Chennai, and a dance drama by Chennai Premalaya. Collector T. Soundiah inaugurated the event in the presence of senior officials, including the District Revenue Officer P. Sri Venkata Priya, and the Regional Assistant Director, Art and Culture Department, R. Gunasekaran.
