SOULFUL Rotary members from Mexico rendering carols in Pudukottai. PUDUKOTTAI: This year’s New Year and the Christmas Celebrations proved special for the students of Mount Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School here. The presence of a five-member team of the Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme of the Rotary International from Mexico during the celebrations brought much delight and enthusiasm to the students. The team from Rotary International District 4,100 from Mexico, led by Rotarian Gilberto Galai, and comprising Adriana Eguia, Alejandra Lugo, Christian Varela, and Jousin Palafox who were on a visit to Tamil Nadu, enthralled the students by presenting Christmas songs in Spanish language. The visitors also taught the students action songs in Spanish. The Mexicans interacted with the students and explained how Christmas was being celebrated in their country. The programme commenced with students and teachers rendering carols heralding the birth of Jesus. Skits depicting the birth were presented. Santa was then given a rapturous reception on his arrival.
