GULBARGA: The State Government is considering the demand to name the district Rangamandira after artist S.M. Pandit, Chairman of the high powered committee for the implementation of recommendations of the Nanjundappa report Shashil G. Namoshi has said. Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, Mr. Namoshi said that artists from the region and social organisations had made the demand. He said that he had taken up the issue with Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. Mr. Namoshi said that a decision on the matter would be taken shortly. He said that the Rangamandira was the second biggest in the State. It will be inaugurated by President Pratibha Patil on Wednesday.
