Three killed, two injured in mishaps

Hassan: Two persons died and two others were injured seriously when a lorry ran over them near Balegadde on NH 63 on Saturday. The police said that the accident occurred when the five persons were returning to Belur from Sakleshpur in their car. The victims had alighted from their car to attend to nature’s call when they were run over.

The deceased were identified as Syed Layiq (23) from Belur and Mohammed Yunus (32) from Holenarsipura. The injured - Syed Vahab and Taufiq both from Belur - were shifted to the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. Sakleshpur police are investigating.

In another accident on Saturday night, Neele Gowda (30) was run over by a lorry near Dudda circle. The accident occurred when he was returning to his village Dodda Hatti in Dudda hobli in Hassan taluk. Dudda police are investigating.
