Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A former Managing Director of the Nagarjuna Finance Limited (NFL), Gokaraju Satyanarayana Raju was detained by the Delhi police at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi when he was about to leave the country.

The Delhi police detained him on the basis of an alert sent to all international airports to prevent him from leaving the country, as he was wanted in a criminal case pertaining to non-payment of public deposits by the NFL.

Raju who worked as Managing Director of the NFL was handed over to the Hyderabad police. He was produced before a court in Hyderabad, which remanded him to judicial custody.

Sources said Raju was on his way to Tel Aviv via Vienna and was about to board an Austrian aircraft, when the Delhi police detained him. The Hyderabad police had earlier sent alert to international airports in the country. The police had earlier arrested K.S. Raju, NFL chairman and one of the directors P.K. Madhav in the case.
