7 DMK activists arrested

MADURAI: Seven persons belonging to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam were arrested on Sunday.

The police said based on complaints from the AIADMK on December 28 that several persons belonging to their party were attacked by DMK cadre in a poll-related clash, a case was registered.

Investigations revealed that Nallathambi, Mayilvahanan, Selvendran, Tirupathi among others belonging to Thirumangalam had threatened the AIADMK cadre and trespassed into their place of stay.

Based on their confessions, Thirumangalam Town police registered cases and produced them before a Judicial Magistrate court, which remanded them to judicial custody. — Special Correspondent
