Andhra Pradesh students excel at painting event

Ch. Divya Phani and K. Surya Kanth win awards in the 14th All India Children Painting Contest-2008


HYDERABAD: Two students Ch. Divya Phani and K. Surya Kanth from Andhra Pradesh bagged awards in the 14th All India Children Painting Contest-2008.

According to a press release, Divya secured the seventh rank for ‘Sankranthi’ in senior group while Surya Kanth secured the eight rank for ‘Deforestation in India’ in junior group. A student of ninth standard, Divya hails from Bhimavaram, West Godavari District while Surya Kanth, seventh standard student hails from Narsampet, Warangal.

The competition saw over 2375 entries from over 800 students across the country. Around 105 gold medals and one Best School Award was also given out.

The best school award went to the Viswakavi Residential Public School, Bhimavaram. Further details about the results of the contest can be found at ‘ www.vifaa.org/results.html’.
