Over four lakh lorries to stay off A.P. roads

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Over four lakh lorries in Andhra Pradesh will go off the roads from the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, in response to a nation-wide call for bandh given by the All India Motor Transport Congress.

The main demand is reduction in price of diesel by Rs. 10 a litre.

The Andhra Pradesh Lorry Owners’ Association, comprising various local lorry owners associations across the State, gave a call to the members to participate in the bandh and make it a grand success.

The decision to participate in the bandh was taken at a general body meeting of the A.P. Lorry Owners’ Association held here.
