Water supply disconnected

Coimbatore: In a signal to non-payers of tax and other charges, the city corporation on Saturday disconnected

water supply to a club, for not paying water charges to the tune of Rs.8.60 lakh.

Despite notices and warning being issued for the last four years, the Kerala Club in ATT Colony failed to pay the

arrears of Rs.8,64,700, corporation sources said.

The officials disconnected the water supply to the club in the afternoon. This would be a signal to others, who were in arrears, be it property tax, water charges or any levy, the sources said. – PTI
