Six-day drive to enrol students as voters

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A six-day drive will be taken by the election authorities from January 19 to 24 to enrol students in colleges, universities and other educational institutions as voters.

An estimated 15 lakh students in these institutions are likely to be covered by this special drive.

The students are required to fill an application (Form No 6) and get it attested by the head of the institution and submit it to the election registration officer in the tahsildar’s office.

Chief Electoral Officer I. V. Subba Rao said here on Saturday that the election registration officer or the personnel deputed by him would not undertake any verification of the details mentioned in the application once it was attested by the principal or the university Vice-Chancellor.
