The idea behind the initiative is to increase the involvement of women in the decision-making process. According to a release from the Centre for Women’s Studies, Avinashilingam University, the UGC invites universities to nominate women in the middle and high-level positions to undergo the programme. It has sanctioned the programme for the Centre for Women’s Studies of Avinashilingam University. The workshop will be organised at the Avinashilingam University from January 5 to 9. Around 30 to 35 women academicians from various universities of Coimbatore, Erode, the Nilgiris, Salem and Dharmapuri districts are expected to participate. Middle and senior level women in administrative positions or who have the potential to occupy such positions can attend. K.C.
