‘Weaves’ wows handloom buyers

Hard to choose: Visitors selecting dresses at the handloom exhibition ‘Weaves’ in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: An exclusive range of sarees and textiles from different parts of the country are on display at the handloom expo ‘Weaves’ at Vysakhi Jala Udyana Vanam. The exhibition-cum-sale is being organised by Revathi Creative Communications(P) Ltd. The expo is on till Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The collection includes cotton and silk sarees, dress materials, home furnishings like cushion covers, bed sheets and bed covers, quilts, tablecloths and curtains stoles and dupattas. Handlooms from the States of AP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are on display at the expo.

A good range of Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees, silks like kosa, tassar, muga and eri, Rajasthan’s Bandhej and Sanganeri printed textiles and embroidered shawls, dresses and sarees of Kashmir are included .
