No major drop in building prices

KOCHI: The economic slowdown has had some impact on the construction industry, but the prices in the building sector would not see much drop due to rising labour costs and high land prices in Kerala, said Abdul Azeez, director of Skyline. Talking to reporters here, he said his group would get into the budget home segment in a major way. He claimed that Skyline has created history by delivering 22 projects during 2008. These are located at various sites, consisting of 1,260 apartments, covering about 2 million sq. ft.

The group plans to deliver another nine projects during 2009. Three new residential projects will be launched in Kozhikode, Kottayam and Tiruvalla. — Special Correspondent
