Sushanta Talukdar

Guwahati: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday said the perpetrators of the serial blasts in the city on New Year’s Day would be brought to book.

“Let proper investigation be over. Whosoever is involved, he or she would be punished,” Dr. Singh told reporters at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after seeing those injured in the serial blasts undergoing treatment.

Prior to his arrival, Dr. Singh sanctioned an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the next of kin of those deceased and Rs. 1 lakh each to the seriously injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
