Evidence shared with Islamabad, says Sibal

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Union Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal has said the evidence available with India and international agencies about the involvement of Pakistan-based players in the Mumbai terror attacks has been shared with Islamabad.

Talking to journalists after a Cabinet meeting here on Friday, Mr. Sibal said other countries should help in pressuring Pakistan to end cross-border terrorism.

Mr. Sibal said India as well as international agencies had evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism in Mumbai and this was given to Pakistan.

Pointing out that India was in touch with various countries, Mr. Sibal said no country could say India’s conclusions were incorrect.

At the international level, “our friends should help” in pressuring Pakistan, he said. “But more importantly, we have to be strong ourselves,” Mr. Sibal said.
