State Government doing a lot for their welfare Their grievances would receive due recognition
KARUR: Society should end discrimination of eunuchs as they are lesser to none in comparison, District Collector J. Umamaheswari said here on Friday.
Addressing the grievances redressal meeting for eunuchs Dr. Umamaheswari pointed out that the State Government was doing a lot for the welfare of the eunuchs. Formation of a welfare board for eunuchs was an important milestone.
Members should come forward to utilise the benefits from the board.
Through the board, the eunuchs could get aid for starting business ventures, house site pattas, educational assistance, and job opportunities.
The grievances redressal meeting would be held once in three months to address issues concerning eunuchs in the district.
Their grievances would receive due recognition and would be looked into expeditiously, she said.
District Social Welfare Officer Rajeswari, office-bearers of the district level committee, members of the eunuchs associations and officials attended the meeting.
