VISAKHAPATNAM: Circumstances are such that one has to ask a reporter to which media organisation he or she belongs, said Minister for Transport and District Minister in-charge Kanna Lakshminarayana. “Nowadays some newspapers are openly stating that they are criticising a particular party or person. So it is not wrong to inquire a reporter, which paper he is representing” said the Minister while trying to defend himself when reporters asked him why he wanted a reporter to which media organisation he belonged to when the latter put an inconvenient question to him. Actually Mr. Lakshminarayana said “To which party you belonged to” but quickly corrected himself and asked “which paper”. He said there was nothing wrong in seeking the name of a reporter’s organisation midway through a press conference.
