Big win for Hyderabad

VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad scored an innings and 31-run victory over Kerala in the South Zone inter-State (two-day) senior women’s league cricket tournament at Anantapur on Friday.

Tamil Nadu and Karnataka garnered three points each by virtue of first innings lead against Goa and Andhra respectively. Saturday is a rest day.

The scores: Andhra 155 and 90 for two in 40 overs (Geetha 41) drew with Karnataka 209 for eight decl in 79.5 overs (Roopa 56, Vanitha 53, Mamata 40).

Kerala 78 and 141 in 93.3 overs (Ameena 46, G. Sultana three for 23) lost to Hyderabad 250 for four decl in 56 overs (Diana David 86).

Goa 136 and 104 for four in 50 overs (Srista Souza 49) drew with Tamil Nadu 268 for nine decl in 51.3 overs (T. Kamini 87, Hamsavalli 57, Kamakshi 44, Salma five for 34). — Principal Correspondent
