Mulford appreciates commissioning of National Investigating Agency NEW DELHI: The US Ambassador to India, David Mulford, called on Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at the Delhi Secretariat here on Friday and handed over to her an invitation from the Mayor of Chicago to take part in the Global Cities’ Forum being held in Chicago this coming April. Mr. Mulford also invited Ms. Dikshit to the US Embassy in Chanakyapuri here this Monday for a function being organised to commemorate 50 years of Indo-US relations. On this day in 1950 the present building of the US Embassy was inaugurated. During the meeting with Ms. Dikshit, Mr. Mulford talked about the existing relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that the people-to-people relations would grow further. He described Delhi as a major centre of education. The Ambassador also expressed commitment of the people of America to jointly fight against the menace of terrorism. Recalling that his country had taken strict measures to combat terrorism after the 9/11 terror attacks, he appreciated the commissioning of the National Investigating Agency in India now.
