“Get permission to offer feast to pilgrims”

Staff Reporter

DINDIGUL: Prior permission is essential for annadhanam, distribution of free food, to pilgrims, particularly padayatris in the temple town and on padayatra routes in the district. Such measure will ensure quality of food and protected drinking water to pilgrims visiting the temple town for Thai Poosam festival, said Collector R. Vasuki.

She was presiding over a special meeting on arrangements for Thai Poosam at Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy temple in Palani on Friday.

Volunteers or organisations who wish to offer free food to padayatris should submit a list of food items, place and time of distribution and their name and address to the village, town panchayat or municipal administration concerned in advance.
