BU Senate members to submit memorandum

Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE: Representatives of the Senate of Bharathiar University will submit a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Coimbatore, R. Radhakrishnan, urging him to discontinue offering arts and science courses in engineering colleges.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University G. Thiruvasagam said a resolution was passed at the Senate meeting of the university that was held on December 31. “The Senate unanimously decided to send a memorandum along with a copy of the resolution to the government asking Anna University to stop offering B.Sc., B.A. and BBA courses.

A delegation will also call on the Vice-Chancellor to submit a memorandum along with another copy of the resolution,” he said. The move was a result of arts and science colleges affiliated to BU losing out on admissions in the above courses.
