Qatar raises LNG prices

NEW DELHI: Following the hike in rates by Qatar, the main supplier of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), rates of LNG have gone up, a development that is likely to impact important sectors such as power and fertilizer. The hike in LNG prices is to the tune of around 26 per cent. Petronet imports LNG from Qatar under two contracts. In another development, Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has bought LNG from Shell India at $11.7 per million British thermal unit. — Special Correspondent
