NTPC achieves record production

HYDERABAD: Setting a new milestone in power generation, the NTPC coal stations have achieved the highest ever generation on a single day by generating 559.9 million units with a plant load factor (PLF) of 101.5 percent on December 17, 2008.
According to a press release, the day also recorded the highest ever generation by both NTPC coal and gas stations with 629.3 million units of electricity.

The coal based power stations have achieved a PLF of 97.01 percent during December, 2008.
The NTPC Korba, Rihand and Ramagundam stations also recorded the highest ever generation on a single day during December.
Korba generated 52.49 million units on December 17, Rihand generated 50.22 million units on December 23 and Ramagundam generated 64.19 million units on December 28 respectively.
Unit VI of NTPC Kahalgaon (500 MW) has been declared under commercial operation with effect from the midnight on December 30.
72 hours
The unit V of NTPC-Sipat (500 MW) successfully completed 72 hours of full load operation as on the midnight of December 31 and it was to be declared under commercial operation.
