Mamata and Sultana shine

VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad’s Mamata Kanojia (88) and G. Sultana (five for 10) hogged the limelight in the South Zone inter-State (two-day) women’s league cricket tournament against Kerala at Anantapur on Thursday.

Hyderabad, in reply to Kerala’s 78 in 41.2 overs, was 207 for three at the end of the first day’s play.

The scores: Kerala 78 in 41.2 overs (G. Sultana five for 10) vs. Hyderabad 207 for thee in 49 overs (Mamata Kanojia 88, Diana David 48 n.o.).

Andhra 155 in 72.3 overs (Geetha 41, Deepika Babu three for 31, Sunitha Vasudevan three for 44) vs. Karnataka 50 for two in 25 overs.

Goa 136 in 85 overs (Resha Rawal 44) vs. Tamil Nadu 20 for no loss in 11 overs. — Principal Correspondent
