Thiruvananthapuram: Governor R.S. Gavai visited the Santhigiri Ashram near here on Thursday. The Governor arrived at the ashram, accompanied by his wife, Kamalthai Gavai. Hundreds of devotees, residents of the ashram and students turned up to receive the Governor and his wife. General secretary of the ashram Swamy Chaithanya Jnanathapasvi, directors Swamy Gurubhaktan Jnanatapaswi and Swamy Gururetnam Jnanatapasvi turned up for the reception. The Governor and his wife offered prayers before visiting the Guru’s hermitage and other buildings on the campus. Activities hailedDuring his interaction with those staying at the ashram and students, Mr. Gavai hailed the charitable activities undertaken by the institution all over the country. The Governor also had lunch at the ashram with sanyasis, a press release issued here by the Raj Bhavan said on Thursday.
