GULBARGA: The Republican Party of India (RPI) on Thursday demanded that Governor Rameshwar Thakur direct the Government to order a judicial inquiry into the murder of the former zilla panchayat member and Congress leader Dharmaraj Hodal in Gulbarga city on December 11. The RPI workers, led by its State Secretary A.B. Hosmani, staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in protest against the failure of the police to arrest the culprits even after 20 days after the crime. The RPI leaders said that they did not have confidence in the local police to do justice in the case. — Special Correspondent
