‘JD(S) will bounce back in Bidar’

M.B. Girish

BIDAR: The Janata Dal (Secular) will bounce back in Bidar district despite the two recent developments which have affected its image, party sources have said.

First, it was the quitting of five members of the party, who joined the BJP in the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), and the latest being the Lokayukta raid on the houses of Tulasiram, personal secretary to Bandeppa Kashempur, a former Minister and Bidar South MLA.

According to the sources, the party is heavily dependent on Mr. Kashempur for restoration of its image in the district. They said constant efforts were being made by Opposition parties to destabilise it. In case of a re-election to the APMC, the Janata Dal(S) was capable of defeating them.

“Mr. Kashempur can easily handle the predicament he is in at the moment. The party will bounce back through him,” they said.
