SINGAPORE: Thailand’s new Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Tuesday delivered his mandatory policy speech to begin his term. Mr. Abhisit called for an end to the political unrest, even as he addressed parliamentarians in the Foreign Ministry building. He spoke there, outwitting protesters, as access to Parliament, the customary venue, was blocked by them.
