One arrested by immigration officials

CHENNAI: Immigration officials at Chennai Anna international terminal arrested a 38-year-old Sri Lankan national, when he attempted to board a London-bound flight with a fake visa stamp early on Tuesday.

Immigration sources said S. Ilanchezhiyan of Kandy came to complete the immigration formalities. When he submitted his Sri Lankan passport, officials found a fake UK visa stamp affixed on it.

Following this he was secured and handed over to the airport police.

Further investigation is on.
