VISAKHAPATNAM: The Fourth Town police arrested Srinivas for allegedly killing R. Uday Shankar (52) here on Tuesday. The victim who was working as a clerk in the accounts department of East Coast Railway was found missing from December 10. According to the police, the victim was staying alone at his house in Akkayyapalem, as both his sons were working in different cities. Unable to reach him over phone, his elder son who stays in Bangalore lodged a complaint with the police on December 10, upon reaching the city and finding no one at home. On investigation the police found that the victim had drawn Rs. 1 lakh from his credit card and also noticed that a tenant by name Srinivas was also missing since that day. The police picked up Srinivas on suspicion here on today and on questioning he revealed that he had killed Uday Shankar for the sake of money. He also gave the location where he had dumped Uday Shankar’s body. The body stuffed in a gunny bag, and in a highly decomposed state, was located in a marshy area near Yenugula Gedda here on Tuesday. The police have arrested Srinivas.
