Food fest at ISKCON
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is organising “Tastes of India,” its annual food festival on New Year’s Day at its temple on Chord Road.
This year, the theme is ancient and modern vegetarian cuisines.
The festival will track ancient cuisine, all-time favourites from south and north India over the last 100 years, international dishes that have become commonplace here, and fusion foods or foreign dishes adapted to the Indian palate.
ISKCON has experimented with dishes from an ancient Sanskrit text, Pakadarpanam, and the food offered on the day has been prepared by its finest chefs.
As a nod to popular tastes, there will also be pasta, pizzas and noodles.
The festival is to aid ISKCON’s Akshaya Patra midday meal programme.
Donation passes
Donation passes are priced at Rs. 500 a head, Rs. 300 for children below 10 years, and a family donation pass at Rs. 2,000 a family of five persons.
