MLA’s secretary in Lokayukta net

BIDAR: Lokayukta police on Tuesday conducted joint raids on houses of Tulasiram, first division assistant of the Department of Sericulture, Bidar, and personal secretary to the former Minister and Bidar South MLA Bandeppa Kashempur. They detected properties in excess of his known income.

According to the Lokayukta police, Mr. Tulasiram joined the department as a senior division assistant in 1983.

His total salary was Rs. 11 lakh while the raids had exposed property of Rs. 79 lakh .

The raids were conducted at his Bidar and Bangalore houses simultaneously. Tulasiram owned a house in Bidar and had rented a house at Malleshwaram in Bangalore. The Lokayukta police have detected property worth Rs. 73 lakh, including a house at Shivanagar north of Bidar city and plots and farms in Bidar.

In Bangalore, they found gold accessories worth Rs. 2.5 lakh, silver ornaments and a four-wheeler worth Rs. 4.5 lakh. Searches were carried out on lockers of Syndicate Bank branches at Bidar and Bangalore. The raids were held under the direction of Additional Director General of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta. Raids in Bidar were held under the supervision of T. G. Raikar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and in Bangalore, raids were led by Shekar, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
