KANNUR: P.V. Manesh, 34, National Security Guard (NSG) commando who was injured in the operation against terrorists in Mumbai last month, was received by a large crowd of people at the railway station here on Tuesday morning. Relatives, friends, political leaders and officials turned up to receive Manesh who reached here by train at 11.30 a.m. The commando, hailing from Chalil, near Azhikode, was greeted with slogans. Injured on his head during the operation at Taj hotel on November 26, he was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Mumbai. Pannian Ravindran, MP; K. Sudhakaran, M. Parakashan, Ramachandran Kadannappally, MLAs; K.K. Narayanan, district panchayat president; and V. Santharam, Inspector-General of Police; were present to receive Manesh. His wife, Sheema, father Mukundan and mother Saraswathi were also present.
