Moharram begins

CHENNAI: Since the new Moon was not sighted on December 28 in Chennai and other parts of India, the month of Moharram will start on December 30. The 7th day of Moharram will be observed on January 5 and Youm e Ashura (10th day) will be observed on January 8, according to Chief Shia Khazi of Tamil Nadu Mohammed Mehdi Khan. — Special Correspondent
