In-laws of DMK candidate join AIADMK

CHENNAI: The in-laws of Latha Adiyaman, the DMK candidate in Thirumangalam constituency, on Monday met AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence and joined the party.
A press release from the AIADMK said those who joined the party included Ms Latha Adiyaman’s mother-in-law Thievayanai Ammal, brothers-in-law Ravi and Kannan, sister-in-law Nalina and others. In a letter submitted to Ms. Jayalalithaa, they said they were willing to work under her leadership.
In a statement, Ms. Jayalalithaa urged the Election Commission to provide adequate security to the party candidate M. Muthuramalingam alleging his life was under threat.
