Schools with cent per cent pass classified as ‘O Grade’ (outstanding) Five schools get ranked ‘O Grade’ in the Tenth Standard examinations No higher secondary school secures ‘O Grade’ in the district
TIRUVARUR: The Education Department in Tiruvarur district took special efforts and released the classification of schools on the basis of percentage of results achieved in the SSLC (Tenth Standard) and Plus-Two public examinations held in March this year. 130 schoolsA. S. Radhakrishnan, Chief Educational Officer, told The Hindu, on Monday that there were 130 high and higher secondary schools including 51 government higher secondary schools and 49 government high schools in the district and pointed out that the schools were classified (ranked) on the basis of the results achieved in the SSLC and Plus-Two public examinations. He said that the schools that had achieved cent per cent pass were classified as ‘O Grade’ (outstanding), 95 per cent and above as ‘A+ Grade’, 90 per cent and above as A Grade, 80 per cent and above as B Grade, 70 per cent and above as C Grade, 50 per cent above as D Grade and those schools that had secured below 50 per cent as E Grade. Five schoolsThe CEO said that the following five schools ranked ‘O Grade’ in the Tenth Standard public examinations in the district – St. Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Mannargudi, St. Therasa Girls HSS, Tiruthuraipoondi, Manba-Ul-Ula HSS, Koothanallur, Government High School, Vadakarai and Government High School, Thulajendrapuram. ‘A+ Grade’ schoolsThe following 16 schools were classified as ‘A+ Grade’ – G. R. M. Girls HSS, Tiruvarur, M. M. High School, Chozhapandi, Government High Schools of Haridwaramangalam, Mappillaikuppam, Anaikuppam, Poonthottam, Kaduvangudi, Keeranur, Kovindakudi, Kulikkarai, Peraiyur, Pullavarayankudikadu, Ennakudi, Kovilvenni, Thillaivilagam and Alankottai and Tirumurugan High School, Melavasal. No ‘O Grade’Dr. Radhakrishnan said that no higher secondary school had secured ‘O Grade’ in the district in the Plus Two public examinations and the following five schools were only classified as ‘A+ Grade’ – St. Therasa Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Tiruthuraipoondi, St. Joseph’s Girls HSS, Mannargudi, Government Girls HSS, Podhakudi, Semmangudi HSS, Semmangudi and G. R. M. Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Tiruvarur.
