The boy was injured when his motorcycle hit him SALEM: Police on Sunday arrested a person in connection with the death of an eight-year-old boy in Omalur whose organs could not be harvested due to legal wrangle. Police said Nanjil Valavan, a standard III student, was brought to a hospital with severe head injuries a week ago. It was claimed that he sustained injuries in an accident. After examining the boy, the doctors told his mother that he was brain dead and there was no chance of his survival. Though his mother decided to donate his organs, the process could not be carried out due to legal wrangle. The boy died a few days ago at Chennai. Meanwhile, Theevattipatti police, who are investigating the case, arrested Archunan (40), a resident of Poosaripatti. It was said the motorcycle in which he was travelling hit Nanjil Valavan, causing serious head injuries to him. He however did not inform the same to police.
