Court dismisses bail plea of Canadian in cheating case
New Delhi: A Delhi court has dismissed the bail plea of a Canadian national accused of cheating various banks of around Rs.16 lakh.
Dismissing the bail application of Rajeshwar Singh Bal, a Canadian national, Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau said no fresh grounds were cited by the accused for his release on bail.
The accused, who claimed to be an Indian national, was arrested following registration of an FIR by the Economic Offence Wing of Delhi Police accusing him of duping various banks of around Rs.16 lakh.
The perusal of the passport of the accused revealed that he was a Canadian national who took loan posing as an Indian, the court said.
