SALEM: The Institutes of Road Transport will impart heavy vehicle driving training free of cost to those belonging to the backward, most backward and de-notified communities. The applicants should be in the age group 20-28as on January 1, 2009. The duration of the training is 12 weeks, a press release said. The training will be provided in the Institute’s training centres in Salem, Pollachi, Gummidipoondi, Tiruchi and Madurai. The application in prescribed format along with photocopies of educational qualification, community and income certificates, copy of driving licence should be sent to the Special Officer, Institute of Road Transport, Gummidipoondi, Tiruvallur district. The last date is January 9.
