All newly-recruited drivers should be given identity cards and the crew died in accidents though they were on contract basis should be given immediate compensation.

The workers, newly-recruited drivers and conductors and others took part in the procession and later in the relay hunger strike. State general secretary T. Tirumalaisamy flagged off the procession and also inaugurated the fast. Members of all transport corporations are taking part in the relay fast.
