Auto drivers held for abducting passengers
NEW DELHI: Two auto-rickshaw drivers were arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi police on Friday near Rohini East metro railway station for allegedly abducting and robbing women passengers.
The accused have been identified as 27-year-old Umesh Pundhir and 20-year-old Vishal. According to the police, Umesh was arrested at Timarpur in a similar case last year. He remained in jail for about a year and was released on bail, following which he again started committing crime.
The two were involved in two cases at Connaught Place in which they abducted women, assaulted them and then took them to Ghazipur where they abandoned them after robbing them of valuables.
