Congress turns 123 today

New Delhi: The grand old party of the country, Congress, will turn 123 on Sunday.

Top Congress leaders, including party President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Cabinet ministers, AICC office-bearers and members of the Congress Working Committee, are expected to congregate at the AICC headquarters to celebrate the historic occasion.

The Indian National Congress was founded in 1885.

The AICC headquarters at 24, Akbar Road has been given a fresh coat of paint and preparations were underway for the function. Office-bearers said the national anthem would be played. — PTI
