Nedumbassery: A full scale mock security drill was carried out by the CISF at the Cochin International Airport on Friday noon to test the preparedness of the squad in the event of a bomb threat and to assess whether the response was in line with the contingency plan of the airport company. The simulated exercise got off to a start by 3.10 p.m. with the airport manager of Jet Airways receiving a call that a “bomb” had been placed in the immigration area of the international departure terminal. He, in turn, alerted the CISF about the threat. — Staff Reporter
