1984 riots: key witnesses depose before CBI in U.S.

Washington: Two key witnesses to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, who had claimed that the former Union Minister, Jagdish Tytler, had played a role in instigating rioters, gave their statements to a two-member CBI team, raising hopes of justice among members of the community here.

The team, which visited New York and San Francisco from December 22 to December 26, recorded the statements of key witnesses Jasbir Singh and Jasbinder Singh regarding Mr. Tytler’s role in the anti-Sikh riots. — PTI
